Dear Emmy,
I am a man of 37. I’ve been dating my girlfriend for three years now
and I promised to marry her. I initially fixed her Introduction or
engagement ceremony for last month. But because of financial constraint,
since my business has not been moving well, I had to postpone my girl’s
introduction to next year. Unfortunately, since then she has been at
war with me. She is very angry and upset over my postponement of her
introduction and she’s now threatening to dump me for another man. What
do I do?
From Paul.
Love Emmy’s Advice:
Dear Paul,
You don’t have to have all the money in the world before you can get
married. It appears you’re waiting to be comfortable first before you
marry. That is a bad mindset! Do you really love her? If yes, then try
and do her introduction soonest according to your financial capacity.
Otherwise, you run the risk of losing your girl. Remember that she loves
you even without your being rich and money is not everything. You can
have a modest, affordable wedding anywhere, even in Nigeria. Best
wishes!
