Manchester United had been working on a deal for Spain star Pedro - who has a £22million release clause - for weeks.
United chief executive Ed Woodward flew to Barcelona on Monday to conclude negotiations for the 28-year-old.
But according to reports, Pedro is already in London undergoing a medical and is set to join Chelsea.
Spanish sports paper Marca claim Chelsea have offered more cash up front while United wanted the deal to include further add-ons.
United have apparently now ended their interest in Pedro, who was also linked with Manchester City.
Chelsea
boss Jose Mourinho made the dramatic late hijack of the forward last
night, after taking just one point from their first two Premier League
games of the season.
I am as surprised as you are, more to follow......
