Who is a model?
A model is a person with a role either to promote, display, or advertise commercial products. Contrary to what most people think, anyone can be a model so far the person meets the current need of the client who needs the Models. Models are for exemplary purposes, to show how a product will look like when used, or how a product is to be used. The types of models there is includes:





·         A Plus Size Model:  a plus size model, is a model with full and curvaceous body (big people).
·         A Runway Model: as the name implies, runway models are those who showcase designers cloths on the runways at fashion shows . Female runway modeling are at least 5'9 tall, and commonly small-breasted, while Male ones are mostly between 5'11 and 6'2.
·         A Print Model: print models are used in books, magazines and other print media. A print model should be at least 5'7, with a beautiful face and great personality.
·         A Spokes model: these models are hired to be consistently associated with a specific brand. Contrary to popular thoughts, models don't always have to verbally promote the brand. Most times they are referred to as "Face Of the brand."
·         Body Part Model: these models are used to show case items like wrist watches, shoes, rings, necklaces, head gears, ear rings e.t.c.
  What do I need to become a model?



All you need is decent body and confidence. You don't have to be tall, beautiful and skinny to be a model, the amount of gigs you get all depends on how smartly you utilize your opportunities and what modeling agency you choose to work with.
How do I become a model?
To become a model is something that isn't to hard to do. With you putting more efforts in the right place should be up and running in no time. In three easy steps, here is how to become a model.
Step 1. Create a portfolio (profile)
- Go to a photographer and take pictures of yourself that you will submit to a modeling agency. Consider taking a head shot and multiple body shots. Also consider making use of professional photographers.
- Take your measurements and know your features. These will help modeling agencies place you. Make sure you know your height, weight, and shoe size. Also know your clothing measurements such as dress size, hip, waist, chest etc.
Step 2. Contact a modelling agency
Visit a modeling agency in your area, provide the needed information and you are good to go. Do note that no agency should ask you to pay so much before you start modelling for them. If any agency is demanding too much money or any other immoral form of payment, walk away and find a better one.
Step 3. Start Modelling!
Live your life, enjoy your job and do it with all dignity. Also keep in mind that to remain in the category you signed up for, you shouldn't gain too much weight. Take good care of your body and keep it in shape.
